The fork...

Few of us ever get the opportunity to be a hero, a real hero as in saving someone's life after an accident or speaking the truth on a global stage. Yet, our entire life, taken one day at a time, is about opportunities to make choices that could ultimately make the world a different place.
How? By choosing one action over another.

You know that feeling...the one about a decision you need to make? The feeling that one choice is better than the other, even though the action to follow that choice may be more difficult? Every choice you make in life is a fork in the road.
Sounds too simple, right? Well, its' true.
Each time you make a choice, you receive what you choose, with all its opportunities and consequences. At the same time, you give up what you didn't choose with all of its own opportunities and consequences.
Pass on the gossip about a colleague? Or say something kind to the next person you meet?
Give the finger to the guy who cuts you off in traffic? Or, put both hands on the wheel and whisper a prayer that he doesn't injure someone further down the road?
Indulge in your third drink before driving home? Or pass on it and arrive home a little earlier than usual?
Hate someone because they're different? Or dive a little deeper into why you believe what you do?
Each of these choices will give you a different result.
My question is, did you give your choice any thought at all?
