I believe in the old saying "Leave the world better than you found it". Although that sounds like a gargantuan task, it's do-able.

You don't have to fix everything in the world. Just figure out what you can do to make the world a better place.

Can you lead a horse or hold a child's leg to balance them for therapy?

Can you read to a class at a local school?

Do you play the piano or guitar? Can you sing? Elderly people enjoy a concert on a grey winter day more than you can imagine.

Bag by bag, you can make your community a cleaner place.

You don't have to adopt every puppy in need of rescue. Volunteer at your local shelter to help socialize rescued animals. Or offer to wash the kennels. Or just love on the animals who need it the most...perhaps an elderly dog or cat who most likely won't be adopted. Share your smile with a hospital patient whose family may not live close by.

You don't have to give money. You have access to the greatest treasure on earth...your time, knowledge and talent. Find somewhere to give of yourself. You'll be blessed and the world will be a better place.
